Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Working with Corporate IT to implement strategic plans for the country's IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals and objectives.
  • IT Governance: Establishing and enforcing IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Team Management: Leading and managing the IT team, including hiring, and training employees, setting performance goals, and providing guidance and support.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Developing and managing the IT budget for the country, allocating resources effectively to meet business needs.
  • Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the country's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software.
  • Security and Risk Management: Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect the country's IT systems and data, including conducting risk assessments, and implementing disaster recovery plans.
  • Vendor Management: Managing relationships with IT vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that service level agreements are met.
  • Project Management: Overseeing IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the desired outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaising with key stakeholders, including Country heads, GMs, and business units, to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions and support.
  • Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Staying updated with emerging technologies and evaluating their potential benefits for the country's IT infrastructure and overseeing the adoption and integration of new technologies where appropriate.

Requirement:

  • Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required. Additional certifications or specialized training in areas such as network administration, cybersecurity, or project management may be beneficial.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in IT management and in manufacturing is required. This includes experience in managing IT infrastructure, systems, and teams.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge and expertise in areas such as network administration, server management, database administration, cybersecurity, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are essential. Familiarity with manufacturing-specific software and systems, such as supervisory control and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Leadership and Management Skills: The IT Head is responsible for leading and managing the IT department and its staff. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills are important. The ability to develop and execute IT strategies, manage budgets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams is also crucial.
  • Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: The IT Head should have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve IT issues effectively. This includes the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems, evaluate system performance, and implement improvements.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the specific industry in which the factory operates is beneficial. Understanding the unique IT requirements, compliance regulations, and technological advancements within the industry can help the IT Head align IT strategies with the factory's goals and objectives.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: The IT Head should be adaptable and flexible in handling changing IT needs, emerging technologies, and evolving business requirements. This includes staying up to date with the latest IT trends and developments in the manufacturing industry.
